A select group of directors has achieved the rare feat of winning top awards at all three major European film festivals: Venice (Golden Lion), Cannes (Palme d'Or), and Berlin (Golden Bear).

1. Golden Lion & Palme d'Or: Robert Altman won both the Palme d'Or for 'MASH' (1970) and the Golden Lion for 'Short Cuts' (1993).
2. Golden Lion & Golden Bear: Ang Lee is the sole filmmaker to have won the Golden Bear twice and one of four to win the Golden Lion twice, with films like 'Brokeback Mountain' (Golden Lion) and 'The Wedding Banquet' (Golden Bear).
3. All Three Major Awards: Robert Altman is one of the few directors to have won the 'Triple Crown' of major film festivals, securing the Golden Lion, Palme d'Or, and Golden Bear.
