Targeted Therapies and Immunotherapy Advancements

Daraxonrasib is a new oral targeted therapy that inhibits the active RAS protein, which is mutated in over 90% of pancreatic tumors, potentially doubling survival in previously treated metastatic pancreatic cancer patients. Immunotherapy, though generally having modest success rates below 5% in unselected pancreatic cancer patients, can be remarkably effective in the rare subgroup of tumors with microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) or mismatch repair deficiency (dMMR), sometimes leading to long-term survival.
