Goldman studied where AI is squeezing labor markets. Here's what it found

Goldman Sachs found that AI is starting to weigh on employment across developed economies.

The top 3

  1. Administrative and Office Support: Roles involving routine administrative tasks, such as customer service, call center operations, and back-office functions, are highly susceptible to automation by AI, with some call centers seeing employment fall significantly below historical trends.
  2. Legal and Financial Services: Legal professions (e.g., paralegals, legal assistants) and financial roles (e.g., accountants, auditors, basic financial analysts) are highly exposed to AI automation due to tasks involving data analysis, document review, and routine compliance checks.
  3. Entry-Level Tech and Creative Roles: Entry-level programming, marketing copywriting, graphic design, and other creative roles face significant impact as AI tools can generate content and code, leading to slowed hiring and increased competition for new graduates.
