Most Significant Quantum Computing Records

The major milestones in quantum processing power and error correction that define the current race toward universal quantum advantage.

The top 3

Quantum Supremacy Benchmark: Google's 2019 Sycamore processor was the first to perform a task in 200 seconds that would take supercomputers thousands of years to complete.
Logical Qubit Scaling Milestone: Recent advances have moved beyond physical qubit counts, focusing on logical qubits that can maintain information despite noise, surpassing the previous record of low-fidelity systems.
Post-Quantum Cryptography Adoption: The NIST standardization process has finalized the first algorithms (e.g., ML-KEM) designed to resist quantum computer attacks on existing digital communications.
