"Uncontacted" and "isolated" peoples live in roughly 10 countries around the world, including one group that erases their footprints so they cannot easily be found.

- Brazil Leads in Uncontacted Groups: Brazil is home to the highest number of uncontacted Indigenous peoples globally, with estimates suggesting at least 100 to 124 groups primarily within its Amazon rainforest.
- Peru: Second Highest Number of Tribes: Peru ranks second with an estimated 15 to 20 uncontacted Indigenous tribes, primarily residing in the remote Amazon rainforest regions east of the Andes.
- Other Isolated Pockets Globally: Beyond the Amazon, uncontacted groups exist in other remote areas, including a few tribes in West Papua, Indonesia, and the Sentinelese in India's Andaman Islands.
